Now you can do it on an electric bike, because Madrid has launched it first shared-bicycle-project. Following others capital cities in Europe (Paris, London or Barcelona) Madrid is now provided with thousands of electric bicycles for hiring all around the city.

BiciMad project has just begun at the city, but locals are already proud of it, because it has meant a cultural change that “madrileños” have been waiting for long time ago. This urban bike-sharing system it is easy to use, besides ecological, healthy and funny as well.

There are more than 1.500 bikes, distribute in 123 terminals, open 24 hours, 365 days of the year. You can be an annual subscriber or just a temporary user. We have already test this urban bike-sharing and we love it! So… if you are thinking in use this service please check out the different rates you can find below.

Annual Payment:

– With Comunidad de Madrid Public Transportation Payment:        15 euros.

– Without Comunidad de Madrid Public Transportation Payment: 25 euros.

Rates for the time you use that service if you are annual subscriber:

– First 30 minutes: 0,50 euros.

– After the first 30 minutes: 0,60 euros.

Rates for temporary users:

– First hour: 2 euros.

– After the first hour: 4 euros.
